Fourthwalling: Fine, as long as you're cool with the fact that Ibin is less likely to roll with it and more likely to scream and flail at your strange witchcraft speak.

Mind reading him and learning that he is faking it without forcing him to confront that is fine. It would be quite hard to mind read him and not notice his Devil's Fruit secret, unless you are going in with a completely different goal and excellent focus.
